Guided Tissue egeneration

« Back to Glossary Index

Guided tissue regeneration (GTR) is a dental technique used in periodontal and oral surgery to regenerate lost structures like bone and ligament-supporting teeth. By placing a barrier membrane between the gum and tooth root, prevents unwanted gum tissue growth. This allows for natural bone and ligament regeneration around the tooth while enhancing its stability and support.
